An armed fire hydrant, or RIA, is a firefighting device installed in certain establishments receiving the public and in many industrial establishments.
This is a first response device, to attack a nascent fire before its extension, pending the arrival of firefighters.
The RIAs of a public institution must be arranged so that their lances cover the entire surface of an establishment.
In premises presenting a significant risk of fire, the RIAs must be arranged in such a way that any point on the surface of the protected premises is covered by at least two jets in the diffused position.

1. Prerequisites
RIA maintenance is essential for their proper functioning and quarterly monitoring.
2. Annual maintenance
Every year, the technicians control the essential parts and practice the five-year and ten-year interventions.
